Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Add in the eggs, one at a time, and mix well after each addition.
- Mix in the vanilla extract and red food coloring.
- Gradually add in the dry ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk, until the mixture is well combined and smooth.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the cookie dough to 1/4-inch thickness.
